Blue Eyeliner + Nails.

First post about makeup. One of my favorite subjects to talk about. There is no denying that a little makeup boost my self-esteem a couple of notches ;)

Here is the look.
Really simple and really easy.I picked the blue color of the flowers on my dress, which also make the brown of my eyes stand out more.
I used a blue shadow as an eyeliner, some bronzer on my cheeks, and a pink shade lipstick on my lips. Products used are shown below.

This picture was taken with natural window light. The picture above was taken with a speedilite (flash) Which one do you prefer and why?

I received a gift from my wonderful sister, these awesome bottles of nail polish by Kiko Makeup Milano. From left to right 634 Lila, 635 Glicine417 Blush422 Green Mint

I'm wearing 635 Glicine. It has this rough texture and the color dries  matte.

Ready for more pictures of Mia and Romeo? Remember how I said they don't like when I point the camera at them? It seems it's Ok to take pictures of them as long as I'm holding them and not the camera. They really wanted to be in these pictures. They are so weird and I love them for that haha!

I hope this was helpful. Until next time.

Espero esto les sea útil. Hasta la próxima.

Rain calls for Coffee or Café.

It's Sunday and it's raining. Raining and a cup of coffee go really well together. Coffee goes well with any season if you ask me. Some say it's good for you and then others say the opposite. For me is all about the flavor and the morning boost it gives me.
I found out that Japanese have a good taste for Salvadorian coffee. Who knew right?! There is a Gourmet Coffee Shop called Doutor and they have coffee from El Salvador.

Here is the coffee I bought and what I am enjoying every morning =)

You have no idea how excited I am to have found this coffee!!!

It comes in individual packages.

Viene en paquetes individuales.

It has a little filter you put over your mug. This mug is my favorite at the moment.

Pour boiling water and enjoy.

Agrega agua hirviendo y disfruta.

I didn't have a sweet tooth before, but Japanese sweets are perfect for me. They have the right amount of sugar so you can have as much as you want (Dangerous, I know).

Cherry Blossom, Watermelon, and Matcha.

Flor de cerezo, Melon, y Matcha.

Yum!

Delicioso!

My sister reads my posts before I publish them. She says I sound like Dora the Explorer hahaha. Until next time ;)

Baked Taquitos (A.K.A Fried Taquitos)

I'm in the kitchen! I spend most of my day in the kitchen. Breakfast, lunch and of course dinner.
Today was special. My Mexican friend likes my cooking and wanted to eat taquitos (fried taquitos).  I am not Mexican, but I love Mexican food. I'm always trying to come up with good recipes. I didn't want fried taquitos. I follow the blog 100 Days Of Real Food, and I saw the post on "How to Bake Taquitos." Since my friend was craving fried taquitos, I decided to try this new recipe.

This is how it went down.
The following pics came straight out of my camera =)

Step 1. Wear your apron ($3 at the 3Coin store)

Ingredients for Piña colada

Blend with ice

YUM!

A trick I found on Pinterest. It claims to keep your Cilantro, Parsley, etc. fresh for up to 2 weeks.

I'll let you know if it works.

Some of the ingredients.

I boiled the chicken, and out of the chicken stock I made veggie soup, then I shredded the chicken.

I also used some of the chicken stock to make rice.

My daughter took this pic of me rolling the taquitos.

Here is the trick. Instead of frying the taquitos in oil you spray some canola oil over the taquitos and bake for 10 to 15 minutes at 425 degrees.

Guacamole: avocado, onion, tomatoes, salt and of course lemon juice.

Queso fresco (Part skim milk cheese), diced red radishes, diced tomatoes, lettuce, and mild salsa.

 Final product.

 Veggie soup.

Delicious baked taquitos (my friend said she didn't notice the difference between fried or baked).

Don't forget to enjoy with some tasty Piña Colada or your favorite drink of choice ;)

Did you like this post? Are you interested in more cooking posts?

Until next time.

Hokokuji Temple

More pics from a little trip we took to a beautiful temple.
We went to this place about 4 weeks ago. Sometimes I take so many pictures I don't have enough time to go over them as quick as I would like to. I had some down time today and decided to share this pictures with you.

Some pictures look better in B/W at least to my taste they do.

Love how the sun is peeking through in this picture.

My love and I <3

 Amazing isn't it?!

We enjoyed some green tea of course.

That's all folks!

Let's talk about Nails.

I'm not an expert when it comes to doing my own nails. If I have to pay $20 to $40 every two weeks to get them done you can bet I will become very resourceful and with a lot of practice and patience I will save that money to invest on other things and still have glam nails.

I really get inspiration from everything around me. Here are a few pics I took with my iPhone of some of the nails I have been sporting lately.

My New Year's Eve nails

Gray+glitter

 Spring is in the air...

St. Patrick's Day

I wanted to draw Cherry blossoms. I don't have that much time so stickers did the trick.

 My favorite mint color <3

cute isn't it?!

Do you do your own nails or do you pay to get them done?

Hair confessions (Part I)

Let me tell you a little secret about my hair. I haven't had a haircut or dyed it since March of 2013. Yes, you are reading that correctly and YES it has been over a year. Shameful I know!
Everything was perfect before that. I had finally found the perfect stylist, someone I could trust completely. I've been going to her for the past 6 years until we had to move to Japan.

The last time I went to get my hair done she suggested not to do highlights all over but instead to go with an Ombre style so I wouldn't have to worry about retouching my roots for a while. She also gave me a haircut nothing crazy just some sexy long layers. I loved it!

I have asked friends and also google in search for a hairstylist but nothing like my previous one. There's probably a gazillion good stylist out there but that language barrier is still a big factor as it is distance. I've been told there are plenty of english speaking stylist in Tokyo but I don't want to commute for hours on a train either. I asked a complete Japanese stranger who spoke perfect English, and had a super cute haircut about her stylist. She gave me the number of the hair salon but when I called nobody spoke English =(
I started talking to the receptionist of Sakura Salon through Facebook and she recommended me the hairstylist so I finally made an appointment and I am anxious, excited and nervous about the outcome. I will tell you more later and will show you pics as well.

My beautiful and sweet Sherri B. and I the last time she did my hair.

Me and my hair now!

Long eh?!

Here are a few pics of my lovely dogs. I took them with me on this shoot and decided to let them run free.
This is Mia, she's so tiny you can barely see her haha. She is full of energy I love her so much.

Romeo! Just the best furry friend a girl can have. He is full of love and kindness. I named him Romeo for a reason =)

Just like my two kids, my dogs are not camera friendly. They avoid me as soon as they see me pointing my camera lens at them.

How often do you get your haircut/color? Where do you get inspiration and tips from?
Even though we are miles away I still follow my hairstylist for inspiration and tips. She has a FB page www.facebook.com/HairStylistSherriB and she also has a website and an amazing blog www.sherridoeshothair.com check her out!

Until next time.
